TEHRAN -- A tremor measuring three degrees on the open-ended Richter scale hit the border region of Gomishan in Golestan Province at 00:13 hours local time Monday (0843 GMT Sunday).

The seismological base of Mazandaran Province localized the epicenter of the quake at some 45 km northeastern Gomishan, in Golestan Province, IRNA reported.

No report has yet been received on possible damage inflicted by the temblor.
